seems odd that she's pretending reagan never existed considering he's the #1 example of the impact that a doddering old fart can have on this hell country
"in favor of a moderate philosophy Republican voters left for dead decades ago."
This is the meat of it, right here. It doesn't matter who can or can't persuade whom; the voters, or at least the primary voters, aren't looking for the persuadable ones. Hell, I don't want a persuadable representative; I want one who's gonna fight like hell for the things I want.
But if you’re familiar with some of the commenters on that one other site that starts with a D, the idea of having politicians with “policy” and “morals” and “convictions” are irrelevant and you should just vote harder, stupid!
“Pelosi, like President Joe Biden, seems totally taken aback at what’s been happening right in front of them, to the point where all they can offer is mealy platitudes and boomer-calibrated callbacks to an era that largely existed only in their minds’ eye.”
I’m not going to give them such leeway. Sure, both of them most likely have brains disintegrating before our eyes, but remember these ghouls (especially Biden) were friends and went to bat for these people. They’re just playing off the bullshit canard about bi-partisanship (which never existed) that so many liberals are attached to.
This woman is fucking incoherent. The fact these glibbering simps clapped for the fucking drivel spilling out of her mouth shows how fucking doomed we are.
Also reading “the Aspen Ideas: Climate Conference in Miami Beach, FL” made me do a literal lol.
There's a small part of me that sees Nancy Peolsi jumping parties after the midterms. It's not completely realistic to expect this to happen, but given her love of Republicans, and punching leftward, and most importantly for power, what really does she lose by switching?
I remember this used to be Nick Kristof's line after the 2008 election if I'm not much mistaken. An earlier, more embarrassing version of me bought into it then mostly because of how self-righteous and smarmy I got to feel when saying it. Moral of the story: I was a fucking idiot, which I suppose made me Kristof's ideal demographic.

He did the whole “soup brained geriatric driving the clown car” thing before it was cool.

Also Nancy Pelosi is a turd.

"I miss the time when we both could work together to fuck over poor people" - Centrist Dems
