Let's disregard history for a moment and try to avoid the temptation to place the blame for Middle East carnage. At THIS POINT IN TIME, anyone who doesn't support a ceasefire is morally reprehensible, and that unfortunately includes John Fetterman, a politician whom I admire in many ways.

You have to be unwavering in your support of Israel, or else how can you be unwavering in your support of all of our domestic war crimes/apartheid level policies that discriminate and disenfranchise Americans right here

It's quite a pattern. It might be the only talking point and policy that both parties still share (13 administrations and counting? Show me anything that hasn't changed one bit in 13 administrations aside from increasing the Pentagon budget and letting Israel do whatever it wants). Fetterman said a similar thing on the Colbert show, stating that as a US Senator he has to be unwavering in his support on Israel (truth!). And NY Governor Hochul just now on NY1 said in one breath that of course we hope that Israel doesn't kill many civilians (400 in the last 24 hours), but, "we can't let Hamas get away with it." As if a brief cease fire condones what Hamas did. So keep bombing!

We’re just taking Hamas casualty reports at face value, now, huh? Even after they lied that a hospital was hit by the IDF?

I am, only if they can be verified or supported by events on the timeline. The IDF increased the number of sorties over the weekend, and reported hitting over 300 structures in Gaza October 20-22. The Gaza health ministry reports the number of dead in Gaza since October 8 is now above 5,000. That seems to check out given what Sky News and the BBC are showing.

"I think anyone downplaying the immediacy of more than 200 innocent people being held hostage by Hamas are delusional and flatly hypocritical because there’s no way in hell they’d be fine with their loved ones being in the custody of an extremely violent terrorist group.

I remain unconvinced that a ground invasion of Gaza by the Israeli military is in the best interests of anyone, and I believe this because the IDF has repeatedly proven themselves to be unconcerned with the welfare of innocent Palestinian civilians, whom most certainly will bear the most fatal costs of such an operation.

. . .

I think shame should be brought upon anyone who claims to understand this conflict and its accelerating complexity but offers an opinion that is totally one-sided.

. . .

I think everyone should be honest about their fears in this situation and be vulnerable enough with each other to admit that we’re all scared."

I mean I could frame your argument ass “Arafat did something two decades ago , so, let’s shoot up a concert”

Prove me wrong, then. Are Jews allowed to have a homeland there? Yes or no.

What are they supposed to do when their citizens are attacked?

Jack, point blank:

Do you believe Israel has a right to exist?

Are there any actions the IDF could have taken in the aftermath that would have been appropriate?

So you’re argument is roughly equivalent to “Why should affirmative action exist? No one in my family had slaves.”
