Can't wait for someone to sue the Biden administration because their immunocompromised spouse or kid dies from exposure on an airplane, and for that case to make it all the way to the Supreme Court. Great post! As an immune-compromised person it looks like air travel will continue to be unavailable to me. I am beyond sick of selfish behavior and the lack of thinking and acting for the common good of all.
I flew today and the plane seemed pretty evenly split on masking. I'm sure everything will work out fine, with this highly contagious and rapidly evolving virus which people can catch multiple times. It's only killing a 9/11 of people every week now instead of every day. Can't wait till the Biden admin tells us they were completely blindsided by the next variant.
oh my GOD those delta press releases. no wonder they're bylined "Staff Writer," who in good conscience could take credit for that garbage? like, i've written (anonymous) advertorial to sell discover cards to college students and yes i think often about having sold a piece of my soul and what harm it might've caused, but i've never tried to convince people who were taken by surprise mid-flight by some fuckwad pilot thundering joyously about everyone suddenly gaining their FREEDOM from the MASK MANDATE during a goddamn pandemic that's killed literal millions that everything's cool, totally under control, don't think about the venn diagram of the 35ish percent of unvaccinated people and people who film themselves ripping their masks off like they just got exonerated after a decade in prison.
also, like, why the fuck are these pilots so excited? they fly with copilots, right? those cockpits are not exactly roomy — is it some awful cheating death fetish? like, who'll be the asymptomatic carrier and who'll spend six hours inhaling that hot new variant?
