Always good to remember that the "I would've voted for Obama a third time if I could've" line from Get Out was some shit he unironically said to Jordan Peele

Has anyone out there tried to elaborate on why this is happening? Sure, on one level you have the true believers, who believe this is about morality or innocence or something. But what's the level beneath the true believers? Who/what does it benefit to not teach that sexualities besides hetero exist?

Like, if conservatives are so keen on preventing abortion, I don't understand why they haven't opened up to the idea that there are sexualities other than hetero - I mean, get a bunch of high schoolers identifying as asexual or homosexual and you've got your abortion problem covered, right? Unless they actually don't care about preventing unwanted pregnancies, because unwanted pregnancies end up being very profitable for them. In fact the whole pain machine of not knowing there are options and thinking there is something fundamentally wrong with you is probably pretty profitable as well.

Florida, as per usual, is the testing ground for the GOP’s most heinous and freakish shit. Can’t wait for President DeSantis in 2028 (after serving as Trump’s VP in 2024). We live in hell.

Let's be real, did anyone actually think Disney was ever going to do the right thing? I would just include all brands/businesses here, its all just marketing and since so much of marketing is tied in with social media its just a hoop they all jump through, its not to say they're aren't good people working at some of these places, but these businesses only do this stuff because they want money

I fluctuate back and forth between your premise and the other, which is that we saw this certain level of progress (which even I tend to cast doubt on) and became complacent. We won the arguments but never did anything further with it. Instead of continuing the KO blows we let them recover, regroup, and seize each opportunity that was given to them. Of course there’s other factors but I just can’t help but think we gave it to them through hubris more than anything else.
