Plausibly good intentions. Anti-revolutionary. Believes billionaires can be changed for the better. Unwilling to upend the system. So basically Dickens was a neolib Democrat. Got it.

The only good version of this ghastly (pun very much intended) story is George C. Scott's, with Edward Woodward as Ghost of Christmas Present (pun not as much intended) and Susannah York and David Warner as the Cratchits.
