Sorry to be such a newb, but will the Substack app run on my Mac laptop? I seem to be getting rejected at the Apple store. Of corse, since it was upgraded about a year ago, I can't find anything anymore, 'cuz I am old. Anyway, I'm doing a lot of volunteering out he midterms, and would love chat about it, but not if it means I have to go out and buy an iPad. Thanks for any advice, folks!
Looked into this! Unfortunately the app is only available for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Maybe see if you can delete the app from your phone and redownload it?
Fast question about tonight's midterms chat and stuff: I am temporarily back on Twitter to help combat election disinformation, and many of those folks are actively planning their escapes. I think they would enjoy a preview of what might be available on Discourse, but I don't know what to tell them if I'm promoting Discourse. For example, I'm a paid subscriber, but is that necessary for tonight? What is the current subscription price and how does one pay it? Is it possible to get signed up in time for the Midterm Meltdown chat? If you can find the time to let me know, I can drop that info. to my very modest number fo followers, and also include it with the warning messages I'm posting all over Twitter to help people not get scammed by fake ballot cure schemes and the like.
It's a shame about Twitter, but there it is. Billionaires are a cancer on our society, and Musk is a big ol' metastatic tumor. I never experienced it as a cesspool, but I have an ad blocker, and I never, ever went to anything they labeled as "News." I mean, that's why God invented newspapers, really. Also, I followed many scientists and and activists and artists, as well as some amazing nature accounts, like Nightly Bats and Thoughts of Dog. I'd say I got 85% of my scientific info. from actual scientists on Twitter. Oh, well.
Anyway, if you might have time to let me know, I can spread the word as I do my Election Day stuff on Twitter, (which mostly involves telling people to call their county clerk if they have questions, to always file a provisional ballot if they are challenged, and to stay in line if the polls closed while they are standing in line. Simple stuff but important.) Anyway, I'll be on the chat here tonight, but I'd be happy to spread the word, if you can let me know the simplified deets.
Thanks so much for taking the time on this busy, busy day.
Thanks for spreading the word :) the chat feature available for all subscribers, including free subscribers, on the iOS app. So all they have to do is subscribe to Discourse Blog, even for free, and have an iPhone or iPad to download the app.
Oh no! No Android! Womp womp.
Aw no! I wonder when they’ll roll out an android app...

Oh good question! Let me look into this, I’m not sure the app is on laptops yet.
