ngl, i haven't seen it on twitter before, but my friday brain was tempted to click through and see if i might want one of these. you almost gave them a sale before i woke up.
I have long engaged in the Block Sponsored Tweet posts policy, but what I've noticed recently is that brands will pay for promoted Tweets by influencers/shills to push their content. Netflix will do this - some random person posts about a show in a promoted tweet and tags what is obviously the company paying them to post. I blocked Netflix from Tweeting at me, and now I have 22 year olds with 60k followers telling me that they love "Hoops."
Despite being stupid enough to waste most of my time on Twitter, I refuse to be willingly advertised to so I automatically mute every single sponsored post. It’s easy as it’s always the second post from top and always for things I have no use for!
Meh, I ordered one in May and it still hasn't left China. Customer service stopped responding to my emails in Sept "we'll contact our logistics officer and get this shipped." And then today I get a email "we hope you like your ocean galaxy light..." and then they try to get me to buy another!
wait really? I also just realized the lights are always "on sale" for half off with "10 minutes" until the sale ends and "only 9 are left in stock!!!" so, there is definitely something interesting happening here
so most likely they're just taking people's money and info, using that to buy the product on aliexpress, and having it shipped to them directly from there without ever laying hands on the actual product (and pocketing the difference). shady
For $20 a pop, I'll post whatever Discourse Blog™ wants.

Loosely related:
Ditch the instagram mobile app and use the website (unless you're posting). No ads!

Just checked and I have over 12K muted accounts - wow!
I am impressed!

Somehow I can't recall ever seeing these tweets myself, though I'm forever stalked by that cleaning slime video 🤢
ocean galaxy... there's a good band name there somewhere
on top of everything it’s a drop shipping scam — those lights are on aliexpress for $25
