There are 128 bird species with tanager in their names (107 in the tanager family and another 21 in the cardinal family, including the scarlet and western tanagers), you could have an entire bird bracket of tanagers, not just a tanager month!
Saw two scarlet tanagers in Battery Park yesterday morning, which was a lovely way to start the day.
Other favorite tanagers I've seen are the swallow tanager, the crimson-backed tanager, and the blue-gray tanager, which I love for being so understated in comparison to many of its kin.
